Taste of Sta. Rita Hills creator and owner
Antonio Moretti was inspired so much by our Sta. Rita Hills
appellation that he makes his home here. Upon tasting wines
throughout the area, he realized that there are many wineries,
such as Thorne that deserve
more active representation. So the Taste of Sta. Rita Hills
was
born
as a way to expose these special wines to a wider audience.
We produce our wine at Terravant,
the terrific local facility in Buellton that we and
many other small
winemakers
use.
Part of this state-of-the-art facility is Avant Tapas & Wine,
which is a tasting room for the 30-some wineries there, including
Thorne. The word "avant" means "stylistically
advanced" and on any given day guests can select from
32 different wines to experience in a self-guided tour using
the wine station's cutting-edge dispensers.
Avant's selection of tapas offer the perfect savory counterpoint
to your favorite wines and are made fresh throughout the
day and evening..
